Project 2:Concepts of Space and Volume
Using patterns and systems, assignment 2 showed integration of spaces which included concepts that were introduced in assignment 1, in addition to 3 spatial relationships, space within a space, space overlapping space, and space abutting a space also known as adjacency. With clearly defined shapes, wooden dowels in sizes 1/2", 1/4", 1/8" diameter x 3' were cut into halves and used to represents the corners of each shape.
Final Design
Here, you can see different heights of dowels were used to show either different shapes or the concepts needed to be introduced. Closer to the left-middle of the picture, the thin, smaller in height dowels were placed to show adjacency with the shapes made. Each shape made were used by different sizes in diameter to tell which is which.
