Project 5: Ordering Principles
Using concepts from assignments 1,2,3, and 4 up until now have been a bit of a challenging, however, it allows for infinite amount of ideas. The design of the House and Studio for a Painter included every concept learned throughout the semester as well as hierarchy, datum, and axis. Using shapes and the concepts, programs were applied targeted to specific interests the client was looking for. Knowing the painter and their attractions helps create the final result.
Final Design
General shapes and linear branching configuration of path for MACRO. One can also understand shapes interlocking with one another.
Hierarchy : Shape
LEFT IMAGE: Hierarchy of house was created with living room higher ceiling to 20 ft and bedroom ceilings to 20 ft. Roofing is shown with overhead planes as well as cut outs for sky light ceilings (living room).
RIGHT IMAGE: Adjacency with trees, as recessed parking garage and volleyball court.
LEFT IMAGE: Studio for client that has 2 floor levels with scenery of pond and trees. Parallel planes were placed within entrance to the studio and has an overhead plane that created a porch.
RIGHT IMAGE: Better view of scenery.
